1852  (1853)  In police villages the elections take place on the second Monday in January, for the choice of three police trustees.
1861  Some villages are not incorporated, and these are not entitled to any representative in the county council. They are usually called police villages, and are governed by three trustees, chosen by the people, one of whom is chosen inspecting trustee, or head of the council.
1962  This northeastern corner contains the police village of Malton, the Malton airport, and the Avro and Orenda factories.
1966  A police village is run by a Board of Trustees elected by the residents.
